Eyelet Embroidery Peplum Shirt in Aqua

Small holes are cut and stitched into the cloth in a repeating pattern, so the texture and the pattern are the same thing, and light passes through it in a way a print never manages. The fabric is 100% COTTON and it has no stretch, which suits the design: the shape comes from the cut and the gathering rather than from cloth pulling tight. A soft scooped neckline sits open at the collarbone, a full button placket runs down the front, and the sleeves reach three quarters of the way down the arm and open out at the cuff. Where the body meets the waist there is a gathered seam, and everything below it flares into a peplum that swings a little as you walk. Sizes run S through L. Bust measures 33 inches at a size S, 33.5 inches at a size M and 34 inches at a size L, with top length running from 23 inches to 24 inches across the same range. Those numbers are in the table at the bottom of the page. Wear it with high waisted jeans and let the peplum sit over the waistband, or with linen shorts and sandals when the temperature climbs. It also works over a tailored skirt for brunch or a garden lunch. Because the eyelet is open, a plain camisole underneath is a sensible idea depending on how much you want it to show.
