Plaid Notched Long Sleeve Blouse

Plaid, a notched collar and a button front. It is a familiar formula and that is exactly why it works: this is the blouse that makes an outfit look finished without anyone being able to say quite what you did. The notched collar gives it a slightly tailored edge, so it holds its own with trousers as easily as it does with jeans.

The fabric is 100% polyester with no stretch, which keeps the collar and placket crisp instead of collapsing after an hour. Sizes run XS through 4XL, one of the widest ranges we carry. At XS the blouse is 26 inches long with a 36.5 inch bust and a 15 inch sleeve; at 4XL it reaches 29.5 inches long with a 55 inch bust and an 18.7 inch sleeve. Since there is no give in the weave, size up if you are between sizes or you want room to layer underneath.

The five colourways all read soft rather than heavy: blue, yellow, light green, pink and grey. Tuck it into tailored trousers with loafers for work, or leave it open over a plain tank with straight leg jeans and sneakers. It layers well under a knit vest when the weather turns, with the collar and cuffs left out. Keep jewelry small, since the check print is already doing the pattern work.
